La Charmante guest house
 We're set snuggly in the middle of the village main street with ample space for up to eight people in three separate rooms, one double, one twin and a huge family room. All have facilities 'en suite'
We're fully registered
with Gites de France
The extensive property is on three stories at the front and two at the back - which fits nicely with our Irish way of looking at the world.
There's a lovely private garden with a romantic double swing seat, a hammock and a terrace table and chairs. Withviews to the forest and mountains, it's an idyllic spot to enjoy breakfast or afternoon drinks in the sun.

Bed linen and heating
Inthe summer we provide light duvets and in the winter heavier ones.Should you prefer there are plenty of extra blankets or bedspreads on request. Usually these are not needed as the rooms are verycomfortable in both winter and summer. Fans can be provided for summer use; and during any chilly winter periods there is full central heating.
Double bedroom
A very spacious and comfortable bedroom which has 'en suite' full private bathroom (wc. wash hand basin and shower with shaving point). There's a big comfortable bed with bedside tables, built in wardrobes and a clock radio.
The view from this room is directly onto the terrace and garden. The room is bright and airy, decorated in a pastel green which compliments the furnishings. |
Twin bedroom
The twin room also has a full 'en-suite' bathroom complete with shower, WC, wash hand basin and shaving socket. The room has two built-in wardrobes, bedside table, chest of drawers, and occasional chair.
It also overlooks the terrace and garden with views onto the forest. As with the double this twin bedroom is particularly spacious with plenty of hanging and storage space.
Peach family bedroom
A short double flight of stairs leads to the family room.
It's furnished with one double bed and a single, chest of drawers and wardrobe with full length mirror.The room is sympathetically lit with both overhead lighting and table lamps.
Although the family room is not en suite the bathroom (for exclusive use) is just next door with a very large shower, wash basin, toilet and storage space. The room has views over the village and valley to the hills opposite.
Lemon family bedroom
Our latest addition to La-Charmante - another family room with great views over the garden. Decorated in a pale lemon, this room has a large double bed plus a regular size single.
Fully equipped with bedside tables, lamps, a large built-in wardrobe and an occasional chair; it enjoys the facility a private bathroom just next door, with bath/shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
Guests living room

All guests have a very comfy shared living room which is centrally heated and has a wood burning stove which is great in the winter. It’s beautifully furnished and has a TV good for practicing your French, video and a few good old fashioned board games. 
There's also an on-site gallery and artists studio complete with Mary, a working artist, who is qualified to teach. She is happy to give classes, at a very economic ten euros an hour (about £6.50) and we would be grateful if these could be pre-booked if possible
If necessary a computer for checking your email is available, complete with anti-virus protection.
There's an extra fridge downstairs in our cellar if needed.
Service and cleaning

Bathrooms are cleaned, towels and the sheets are changed on weekly basis (more may be possible by arrangement). The house itself is always kept in tip-top condition.
- The launderette in Mazamet is always open - 24/7 - and as such provides a very good and useful facility.
- A babysitting (or granny sitting?) service is readily available at ten euros an hour (about £6.50) by a fully registered childcare assistant.
Food and Catering 
It is next to impossible to get a bad meal in France, the food here is superb.
We offer breakfast and picnics and if you get tired of eating out we can provide an evening meal as long as it is requested in advance.
Breakfast is normally served outside on the terrace in wonderful sunshine. Normally there's orange juice, croissants, local bread, coffee or tea, delicious home made jams and marmalade.
